Deb Hartman:
Joining us on the Blend from the Holt Dimondale Insurance Agency, Pat Brown, the President. Welcome to the show.
Pat Brown:
Good morning, and glad to see you, and happy new year.
Deb Hartman:
Happy new year, Pat. And with the new year, what is the latest on the no-fault insurance reform?
Pat Brown:
To sit here for three minutes and tell you everything that’s going on is not going to happen, but I can give you some, our viewers some ideas and places to go. The latest and greatest, and we’ll have this published on our website, it comes from the Department of Insurance and Financial Services, which is called DIFS.
They can go on the DIFS website and find some of this, but these are the rules and regulations, and the forms that clients will be seeing soon. You’ll be receiving them in the mail, and you will need to make choices. Hopefully, the explanations that are on there will give you the idea of what I need to check. And, you’re going to get one every renewal of your auto insurance.
Deb Hartman:
So, twice a year.
Pat Brown:
Could be twice a year, it could be-
Deb Hartman:
Once a year, right.
Pat Brown:
Yeah. Hopefully, if you can do it once a year, a lot of companies are trying to get policies issued for an annual basis. On our website, and again, you can call us, give us… That’s what our people do, try to explain in layman’s terms, what this means for you and how it could affect you. And, we’re not going to sway you one way or another, but we’ll hopefully, we can at least guide you to say, “Hey, what would be the best way for you to go?”
Deb Hartman:
If someone might not be happy with the insurance agency they’re using, what is it that makes Holt & Dimondale Insurance Agency special? Why are you different?
Pat Brown:
I’m glad you asked. I come in here a lot and we talk about some of the things we’re involved with. And, our agency was the brainchild of my father, Frank Brown, 60 years ago. So, we’ve been in this small town for 60 years. My father had a business philosophy of being honest, integrity, and establishing relationships with his people. And my son and I that run it now, we are the third and fourth generation, and we hold true to that philosophy.
Our professional workers and staff, I would take them into war anywhere, basically because that’s their job is to establish the relationships, is to gain the trust of everybody that comes in there, try to explain or educate. We’re not there to make the data. We might not be the least expensive, but we’re going to at least set you up with a portfolio or give you a, we call it a checkup. Why not give you a checkup? If you got good stuff, we’ll tell you. And, that’s our job.
Deb Hartman:
And the insurance agency changes, the rules and laws are constantly changing-
Pat Brown:
Always.
Deb Hartman:
So you guys can help explain it to the customer.
Pat Brown:
Exactly. And, I know people don’t like insurance, but I got to make all the money in the world. But what you have is, it’s an evil necessity if you want to use that term, but the object is when you need it the most is when you have a claim.
Deb Hartman:
Thank you so much, Pat. Thank you.
Pat Brown:
Thank you!
