Bob:
Pat Brown with the Holt Diamond Dale Agency joins us again. And ya brought treats for us.

Pat Brown:
I brought treats.

Bob:
I just want to know why they’re so far away from me.

Pat Brown:
They’re for you. I’d get yours first if I were you.

Mary:
And when you see apples in sight, you know, fall has arrived, the season is changing. Let’s talk seasonal change insurance tips.

Pat Brown:
It is getting fall and you’re starting to put your, your seasonal toys away or you’re buying new seasonal toys.Your boats, your campers, your motorcycles, things that you used in the summer. Sometimes you’ll leave them up at the cottages. And they’re in the open. And do you have coverage for them specifically? No. But you should. Hey, it’s time to put them away. Make sure I got my, my jet skis and everything else. Cause at cottages, things are apt to happen, right? When people, nobody’s around. So the chances of something happening are pretty good. Motorcycles, you can put them in storage. Plus, now it’s time, you know, hey, maybe I’m going to go out and buy my new snowmobile. Maybe I’m going to buy my new quad or my seasonal quad and, and yeah, if you need insurance specifically, plus, especially if you’re riding the quads, putting the liability on them really helps. So just some seasonal thoughts here, your financing is going to make you do it, but other than that, you know, hey, give your insurance agent a call and see what you see, what I can do with it. Yeah.

Bob:
Well you come on here every year and I want you to do this again because it’s so important. Talk about the fall fire safety tips.

Pat Brown:
The firemen in me brings this out every year and this is a great time to talk about it. Um, people are starting to burn in their fireplaces. It’s a good time to have at least your fireplace cleaned. The crease shelter burns in there. And, and, and again, in my days we had so many chimney fires because people did not clean them. Working smoke detectors, working carbon monoxide because of the houses and the way they’re built now are so air tight that the carbon monoxide, um, can build up without you even knowing it. Your fire extinguishers, maybe make sure you got one. Make sure you’re…and test your smoke alarms. If you have children, let them hear what that sound is like. You know, at night when you’re sleeping and that goes off, you know, everybody gets scared and practice a fire safety drill in your home. I can’t stress that one enough. Practice it.

Bob:
You, you probably as a fireman run into so many people that think, I wish I would have done that.

Pat Brown:
Yes. Yep. After the fact, after all, and hopefully nobody gets hurt. You can replace buildings, you can replace things, but you know, why didn’t we do that? Well, we thought about it, but we just didn’t do it. So you know, whether you do one tip, but that’s, that’s the greatest thing. Change your filters in your furnaces, you know, make sure you get a checkup on your furnace, that kind of thing.

Mary:
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense.

Bob:
